Backend Lead

Job description

NexaGuard’s backend powers global consent logging, policy decisions, tenant configuration, and reliable APIs used by enterprises and publishers worldwide. As Backend Lead, you’ll shape architecture and mentor the team shipping mission-critical privacy infrastructure.

  • Own backend architecture for CMP core services, APIs, data models, and policy engines.

  • Lead implementation of secure, resilient services with strong observability and performance.

  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical design, and engineering standards.

  • Partner with DevOps/SRE on reliability goals (SLOs, incident response, scaling plans).

  • Work with Product/Compliance to translate frameworks into enforceable system behavior.

Requirements

  • 8+ years backend engineering experience; 2+ years in a lead role.

  • Strong experience with API design, auth, distributed systems, and multi-tenant SaaS patterns.

  • Security-first mindset: least privilege, encryption, threat modeling awareness.

  • Strong documentation and architectural decision-making skills.

  • Bonus: experience with edge compute, high-traffic event logging, or privacy platforms.

    Salary Range: $145,000 – $245,000
